One of these solutions is SafeCom® that allows natural gas to be exported over long distances in a safe, reliable and cost efficient way.
With the SafeCom PPS installed it enable the possibility to include a spec break on your pipeline. This leads to lower OPEX through reduced material cost, which also will reduce your environmental footprint.
Our SafeCom systems can be used for every application where safety related transfer of data is needed. This can be done via any communication media (fibre, radio, satellite etc.). The SafeCom systems can be used for all remote operation applications where SIL 1->3 (IEC61511) is required.
SafeCom PPS / ESD consists of componentsand systems which are capable of protecting pipelines / installations where SIL 3 (IEC61511) is set as a requirement.

SafeCom® is built on HIMA technology platforms and has two main applications, PPS (Pipeline Protection System) and ESD (Emergency Shutdown System), both applications are designed and built in accordance with IEC 61511 (SIL 3).
SafeCom® PPS is applied on long distance pipelines. The system allows the pipeline to include a spec.break (picture). The safety integrity and accuracy of the system makes this system a cost effective investment, which saves CAPEX on the pipeline it self.
SafeCom® ESD is built with the same capabilities as the PPS system. The ESD version is applied when transfer of safety critical signals and information between remote locations are required. The system can be installed on offshore platforms, and allows safe operation and shutdown capabilities when natural gas/condensate is transferred between the platforms/vessels.
SafeCom® has been installed on close to all export/import pipelines in Norway, and on several offshore production fields.
